In connection with the development of new wind turbines, DEIF Wind Power Technology joins the project group as early as possible to help choose type and concept of the wind turbine. We comment on pros and cons of possible power control setups and strategies to assist the customer in finding the best possible solution for his turbine.
DEIF will use the selected network of sub-suppliers and actively contribute to keeping the project process on track. Being headquartered in world’s centre of wind turbine knowhow (Denmark), we often draw on our experience working with information and research centres such as universities and other institutions of higher education.
In the design process, we will cooperate closely with the wind turbine design team. Among other things, we provide regulation algorithms along with parameters for load calculations and a final approval of the entire wind turbine control system.
The wind turbine control system that we deliver integrates all wind turbine components, and therefore we cooperate closely with your sub-suppliers, Component examples include power converters, hydraulics systems, yaw systems, sensors, etc.
During the safety analysis and design strategy phase, DEIF plays a major role. We carry out the actual application encoding that we customise for each wind turbine and the requirement from the customer.
For the first wind turbines in your project, DEIF will supply complete electrical systems, switchboards, sensor packages and controllers. We make a number of tests and simulations of your coming wind turbines during the process. And when commissioning the first turbines, DEIF will place crew on site to closely monitor the development. The process is of crucial importance and therefore DEIF continuously monitors the process to ensure the best possible power production.
Once the first wind turbines have been safely commissioned and have demonstrated stability, the manufacture of switchboards can be relocated to a local facility. The training of service and technical employees of the customer will be planned and carried out in a close cooperation between the customer and DEIF.
