License activation explained
The first time you use PLC Link after installation, your will be asked to activate it. PLC Link cannot be used until it has been activated, either online, or contacting DEIF Wind Power Technology. License activation helps ensuring you and DEIF of any unlicensed use. After activation you can use PLC Link offline; in your office or in the field. The activation step locks PLC Link to the computer on which it has been installed, and activation is only possible once.
Follow the steps below to activate your PLC Link license. If you experience any problems during activation of PLC Link, please do not hesitate to contact us at support@plclink.com.
Running PLC Link first time
When you want to build code the first time, PLC Link will need to be activated in order to generate code.
A dialog box will appear asking if you want to activate PLC Link:
Answer yes and a new dialog will ask if you want to activate automatically or manual:
Follow the steps below depending on your choice.
Automatic online activation
This is by far the easiest method of activation. For automatic activation, you will need an available internet connection and access to port 80. This means that if you are using a proxy server or similar equipment, this options may not work. Choose yes in the dialog box to activate PLC Link automatically. If this fails, you can still activate manually afterwards.
Manual activation
If automatic activation fails or you have no access to the internet, choose no in the dialog box to start manual activation.

While performing a manual activation, it is very important that you do not close this window until the activation is complete (if you have requested an activation key by any of the possibilities below). If you close it in the process of requesting an activation key, the unique code will have changed the next time you see the window, and the received activation key will be invalid.
Activation by internet
To activate using a web browser, please go to the address http://license.plclink.com/plclink and provide the information provided in the PLC Link window (shown above).
The web site will then look like this:
Press activate and you will be given an activation key as shown below:
Copy the activation key and paste it into the PLC Link window in the activation key text field. Then click OK and the activation is complete.
Activation by phone or e-mail
If none of the other options to activate PLC Link works, you can request an activation key by either e-mail or phone (See contact page for contact details).
You have to provide us with the information given in the PLC Link activation window (serial number, unique code and license ID). While waiting for the activation key, do not close the window since this will invalidate the activation key.
Paste the received activation key into the text field at the PLC Link window. Now click OK and the activation is complete.
